Scientists, archaeologists, and historians all agree that the bible is the most accurate historical book that has ever been written. It is not a book that is based upon mythological figures, or fairytales. There is textual evidence that is proof. The bible and science are not enemies, they blend perfectly.

Unlike any other religion, Christianity is a historical 'religion'. That is, it is based in historical events. The Bible is not, primarily, an instruction manual for life or the meditations of wise people - although it is those things too. Primarily, the Bible records God's actions in history. The Old Testament records hundreds if not thousands of years of history, showing God's actions (among the Israelites). The New Testament then records the life of Jesus and his followers in the first century AD, and the ways that God acted then.
In this way the Bible is particularly confronting. The holy books of other religions are, in effect, a set of teachings which can you can either accept or reject. But the Bible records history and so is, at least in principle, verifiable. When the events recorded in the Bible are corroborated by history, it gives them a far greater degree of credibility, they cannot simply be ignored.

The bible is not the oldest of all known books. Before Abraham heard the voice of the one true God, in Sumeria there were many demonic, pagan religions and traditions which were carved into stone tablets, and walls, by their followers. And they spread throughout the world through different cultures. Who renamed these pagan God and Goddesses, and made them their own. The bible though is the only book that documented Gods laws (the only God), and his message to all people.
Jesus Christ wasn’t, and is not, a mythological figure. Thousands of people witnessed his miracles, and other notable historical events. Many people have witnessed the hand of God; people witnessed Jesus walking on water, saw him turn water to wine, saw him feeding 5000 people, saw him calming a storm, and also raising Lazarus from the dead. These are all documented historical facts. Documented by such historians as Flavius Josephus and Cornelius Tacitus. Jesus Christ’s holy appearance was described in a letter written by Pontius Pilate to Caesar.

Mesopotamia ("Land between the rivers") is a toponym for the area of the Tigris-Euphrates river system, largely corresponding to modern-day Iraq, as well as some parts of northeastern Syria, southeastern Turkey, and southwestern Iran. Widely considered to be the cradle of civilization, the cradle of all pagan religions, the Bronze Age Mesopotamia included Sumer and the Akkadian, Babylonian and Assyrian empires. All the (pagan) religions from different cultures in this world can be traced back to old Babylon, Mesopotamia. That's why so many cultures share similar stories in their 'holy' books. In the times of Mesopotamia the people worshipped more than 800 various gods and goddesses.

It was in this time, amidst polytheism, that Abraham heard the voice of the one true God who said to him;

Genesis 12:1 Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will shew thee
Ezekiel 8:13-15 Again, he said, "You will see them doing things that are even more detestable." Then he brought me to the entrance to the north gate of the house of the LORD, and I saw women sitting there, mourning for Tammuz. He said to me, "Do you see this, son of man? You will see things that are even more detestable than this."
